Privacy policy

Last updated October 7, 2026.

This page explains what SafeNeighborhoods collects about you and what we do with it. In short: we collect very little, and we never sell it.

What we collect

We do not use an analytics or tracking tool.

The crime data

The reports are built from public police incident data and US Census counts. Police departments publish incidents with locations rounded to the block (or less), and without names. We do not add personal information about anyone to that data.

Other companies involved

These services help run the site. Each one gets only what it needs:

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, or will become affiliate links once a partner approves us. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The company you land on (for example SimpliSafe or Lemonade) may set its own cookies to record that the visit came from us. Its own privacy policy applies there.

Cookies

Our own pages do not set cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page, and the companies we link to may set theirs. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it except with the services listed above, or when the law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. You can leave the monthly update at any time. Write to hello@safeneighborhoods.app and we will answer within 30 days.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we update this page first and change the date at the top.

Who runs this site
